Today we present Shebag’s craftsmanship analysis for the Chanel Coco Handle replica, with a focus on the hardware details.
The hardware of the Chanel Coco Handle features a
blackened finish—it may not look overly polished, but this is a key authentication point of the genuine bag.
Even so, every detail is clearly revealed under Shebag Lab’s 400× magnifying glass.
The hardware letter edges of the Coco Handle are smooth, with no ripples.
The engraving has an irregular, jagged texture with the signature blackened effect, as marked in the red circles in the image above.
The key to the blackened engraving technique lies in the depth at the bottom of each letter.
On polished hardware:
The letter A has a flat top, wide font, with a triangular center, as marked in yellow above. The letter N is wide at the top, narrow at the bottom.
The crossbar of the letter H is positioned higher up, and it is also narrow at the top, wide at the bottom.
The letter C is perfectly round with sharp, distinct beveled edges, as marked in yellow and blue below.
The letter grooves feature a
lava-textured finish, which comes directly from the mold itself, not from etching or laser processing.
Under 200× magnification, the lava particles in the grooves are uniform and aesthetically pleasing.
The font on polished hardware has a slightly different form, also produced via
high-precision integral molding.
The letter grooves are clean and smooth.
The letter edges have no jagged texture; the lines are even and natural.
High-hardness hardware causes the side walls to slope gently downward, as clearly seen on the letter A above.
In the letter
H below, the inner and outer edges are clean and straight, with no wavy lines.
The integrally molded mold ensures uniform and consistent engraving depth.
The bottom of the engraved groove has a golden tone rather than whitening, as shown in the image.
Chanel letter engravings are integrated into the mold, all produced by EDM (electrical discharge machining) and finished with mirror polishing, while preserving the natural arc of the letters.
Under 200× magnification, the Double-C hardware shows a
one-piece molding construction with fine, uniform groove texture from the original mold.
The one-shot forming ensures natural transitions at corners, without the stiff look of manual processing.
The acute angle at the line folds is less than 90°, giving a sharper profile, as shown by the red dotted lines in the image below.
The
end of each stroke is also a right angle.
Under magnification, you can also see the unique crackle texture inherent to the mold.
